A camera is a must for every trip. This year we got up close and personal with Reindeer, Moose, Beaver and Osprey. With Bear and Lynx tracks to be seen on many occasions. Coupled with the amazing scenery and dramatic all night long sun set / rise, this is any canoeing photographer’s dream, combining amazing scenery with sunsets that just keep going until sunrise.
During our action packed short trip we made new friends, drove 2500 kilometers, stayed in some amazing locations and found out that smoked salmon is cheaper that chicken!!
For six weeks in 2012 Elements are moving lock, stock, a trailer of prospectors and a big bag of Grey Owl wooden paddles to Scandinavia. This means no dodgy hire canoes, rubbish paddles or funky PFDs (the best other companies offer). So as wells as the highest possible standard in guiding, coaching, locations and experience, you will also be provided with top quality canoes and equipment.

Starting from the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage town of Røros, we will travel 35 kilometers along a snow track in to the wilderness of the Fedmunden National Park. During the week you will sleep in shared lavvus, floored with reindeer skins and heated by a log burner making for a truly wonderful Norwegian experience.
Surrounded by snow, mountains, frozen lakes and forest, we have the perfect beautiful environment for you to learn and develop many new skills and techniques. These will include how to dress, campsite procedures for cold weather living, making emergency shelters out of both snow and forest materials, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, trapping & snaring, ice fishing, fire husbandry, whilst all the time developing the thoughtfulness required to live in this unique place.
