Hårkan River System Expedition
Situated in the western central region of Sweden; the Hårkan River system flows through the dramatically mountainous and forested Jamtland.
This amazing multi day trip allows you to use every skill in the canoeists repertoire. Starting just inside Norway you will spend your days paddling along the interconnecting lakes, exhilarating rapids and portaging around some stunning waterfalls. With a predominant north westerly wind, sailing on the lakes is a real opportunity and then this followed by the navigating your canoe on the rapids that grade from 1 – 3 and some quite a bit harder which need portaging.
With amazing scenery, the opportunity to see reindeer, moose, beavers are readily available. All this with the odd Osprey watching on!!
This is an expedition in every sense of the word, working with the elements, exploring new places, learning / refining new skills. Also the fishing in this area is famed so why not bring along a rod.
Apart from the first and last nights, all other nights will be spent camping in true wilderness on the banks of the river system.
