Progressive White Water Canoeing
Working in a more advanced environment, we will develop your previously
learnt canoe skills into a comprehensive range of techniques which
you can apply in this dynamic river context. Your coach will work
with you areas such as lateral momentum, dynamic edge transfer, and
complete cohesion of you, the boat and your blade.

Open Water Progressive Canoeing
Within this course we will fully embrace the open water environment and every challenge that it presents. Time will be spent perfecting your skills to cope as a solo paddler with challenges such as head winds, swell, poor visibility, navigation or all of them together. You will also look at rescue techniques and staying safe as a part of a peer paddling group.

Tandem Canoe Skills
A developmental course, looking at the art of paddling tandem. We
will introduce you to the dynamic benefits of paddling as a tandem
crew, looking at areas such as communication, trim, effective application
of edge, power gain and reading the water. Time will be spent both
in a white water and open water environment, where you will get a
chance to paddle as both a bow and stern paddler.

Tandem Canoe Masterclass
During this progressive course we will work in advanced locations,
coaching you to cope with the complete environment. Working with
as a part of a tandem crew you will look at picking lines down rapids,
surfing waves, setting and lateral momentum. Our aim is that you
look to achieve everything the solo paddler can do, but as a tandem
team.

BCU 2 Star Assessment
One day spent brushing up your canoeing and kayaking skills and
assessing them against the British Canoe Union 2 Star Syllabus.
Use this either as a way of measuring your skill level or as one of the pre-requisites before taking part in a UKCC / BCU Level One Coach Course.

BCU 3 Star Canoe, White Water Kayak, Sea Kayak
Successful completion of the BCU 3 Star awards means that you can consider yourself an intermediate paddler.
For Open Canoe the award requires
you to be able to tackle moderate open water and easy moving water.
For Kayak the award requires you to be able to tackle grade two
white water and for Sea Kayak the award requires you to be able to
tackle moderate tidal conditions.
For all 3 Star awards you must be able to tackle the conditions as part of a led group. This includes having the group awareness skills to be able to assist in the smooth running of such a trip.
This course is two days of high quality tuition which for those
who are at the required standard will include an assessment. For
those not quite ready for assessment yet, the two days of coaching
will leave you with a clear way forwards to a successful assessment
in the near future.
